Sestraluna is a Belly Dance troupe specializing in belly dance and world dance fusion. We aspire to entertain, educate and celebrate the art of dance, creativity and community through performances, instruction and community outreach.

Each of our dancers brings to the troupe different backgrounds, talents, expertise and goals through which we all explore the world of dance. We respect and celebrate those differences and encourage our dancers to expand their creativity, master technique, and grow in their dance with dedication, enjoyment and passion.

Sestraluna's signature style brings together traditional and fusion belly dance techniques, styles and costuming, often featuring both in a single dance number to the delight of the audience.

Sestraluna was co-founded by Mara Burke and Typhrodisia and is currently active in Maryland under the directorship of Typhrodisia. We hope to create a sister troupe, Sestraluna West, in the San Diego area in the near future.
