About Mara
Mara is co-director of Sestraluna, a belly dance and world fusion dance
troupe based in Annapolis Maryland, and has recently opened her home
dance studio, Studio Sestraluna in Escondido, CA where she teaches
American Fusion Belly Dance.
She is known for her innovative choreographies featuring Fan Veils and Sword and has performed at such venues as First Night Annapolis and Spring Caravan and has appeared on Fox Baltimore Morning News as a member of Gypsy Fusion.
Mara incorporates a lifetime of experience and expression into her craft. She has studied many styles including traditional belly dance styles, tribal improvisational, tribal fusion, gypsy and flamenco. She believes that one should never stop learning and she continues to expand and refine her dance skills through workshops, advanced instruction and performance.
Mara has loved dance her entire life, though never discovered the true joy the art form could inspire until she experienced belly dance for the first time. Mara specializes in Sword, Fan Veils and tribal fusion choreography.
Mara is available for performances through out Southern California.
